Teach in China Referral Program

IPIE.US coordinates with our partners in China to offer native speakers of English the opportunity to teach in
China. Full year contracts are available to certified teachers and university student education majors. There is
never a fee to apply to IPIE.US for any China teaching opportunity, we simply forward appropriate applications
and resumes on to our friends in China at GMCC.

Guangzhou Mansi Culture Communication was formed in 2015, with the aim to open up the world for the
children of China by connecting them with Native English speakers from the West. They act as the
management link between you and the schools across South China as well as ensuring that your teaching
experience in China is smooth, enjoyable and hassle free.

What to expect:

Week 1: GMCC Introduction to China

During this week there are certain requirements that have to be completed according to the rules and
regulations of the People's Republic of China.

Arrival day: You will be picked up at the airport by one of the GMCC staff and brought to your hotel where you
will stay until you can move into your own accommodation. Sometimes it will be possible to move straight into
your accommodation however sometimes it will take a few days during which you will stay in a hotel paid for by
GMCC.

Day 1/2: Medical Check/Registration/Introduction to GMCC

To apply for your residency permit you will need a medical check. If you have already done the full medical
check prior to arrival, then just bring the form with you. In this case, you will just need to do a basic medical
check when you get to Guangzhou. GMCC staff will bring you to the designated hospital to have your medical
examination.

GMCC staff will escort you to the local police station to register, please make sure to bring your pssport! Under
Chinese law foreigners must be registered. Since you will be living in Guangzhou you need to register with the
local public security bureau. You will also need this registration document to apply for your working visa.

You will visit the local GMCC office and be introduced to your local support team. They will also help you to
secure a Chinese sim card and a metro card. These are both at the teachers’ expense so please ensure you have
enough cash with you.

Day 3-5:

You will shadow one of the current GMCC teachers, which will give you a chance to get a feel for their style of
teaching and ask any questions you may have about teaching in China. You can also use this opportunity to try
teaching a class on your own with the support of the classroom teacher.

Week 2: Start teaching in your own placement
